Floral Is Back Campaign

Creative Direction | Campaign | Photoshoot

As the creative director, I oversaw and executed an editorial fashion photoshoot for Terez for their new Spring collection. My responsibilities included creating a mood board, a look list, and collaborating with the creative team to execute my vision from start to finish. I designed each set, curated a vibrant color palette, carefully selected each prop, as well as worked with the photographer and model to bring my ideas to life. Because the clothing collection was titled “Garden Party”, I wanted to create a vibrant set with a plethora of colorful flowers that would reflect this floral set and enhance the colors in this print. I chose to use a light blue seamless backdrop so that it would give a feeling of sky and space. Throughout the shoot, I wanted there to be a hint of surrealism to give the images a striking edge with geometric contrasting shapes, so I incorporated a black and white checkered backdrop on the ground to achieve that goal. I was really excited to see this project come to life and am very proud of the outcome.

Tennis Scene

Because Terez is an athleisure-wear brand that primarily sells women’s work-out clothing and pieces to wear for a variety of sports and activities, I wanted to incorporate a tennis set into the shoot. We wanted to visually play with the look and feel of tennis without having to shoot on or construct an actual tennis court. I envisioned this set to be another vibrant palette of colors that felt fun, playful, and energetic. I selected many different colors for the tennis balls so that the models and clothing could really play off of each other. Originally, the models were standing up and being shot against the white background, but I really wanted the white clothing to stand out and have a strong contrast, so I directed the models to lay down on opposite side of each other on the pink tennis backdrop. This solution was the key to succeeding in executing bold and striking imagery.

Tea Party Scene

Last but not least, we concluded the photoshoot with this last set, a tea party scene to really carry out the idea of having a garden party with lots of food, flowers, and saturated colors. I chose to use a bright yellow backdrop so that the food and flowers would seamlessly stand out and create a beautiful contrast against the background. I wanted the black and white floor to give this set a surreal twist of energy while still keeping it classic and fashion forward. I envisioned this set to be loud, extremely vibrant, fun, and bold.
